Meta’s WhatsApp is experimenting with a new feature in its public beta version, allowing users to upload one-minute long video statuses. Currently, the platform only supports 30-second video statuses. This move aligns WhatsApp more closely with Meta-owned Instagram, which already permits one-minute stories. Initially available to select beta testers, the feature is anticipated to roll out widely in the coming weeks. Additionally, WhatsApp for Android has undergone a redesign, adopting a bottom navigation bar akin to its iOS counterpart, with sections for chats, updates, communities, and calls.
