The Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) has relocated the Federation Cup tournament from Jashpur district in Chhattisgarh to Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, following recent arrests of Naxalites and their supporters. Scheduled for April 24 and 25, the event was also set to host elections for the Athletes’ Commission. The decision, prompted by concerns raised by the district magistrate, aims to ensure safety amidst the aftermath of the arrests. Additionally, the WFI is considering moving the women’s national camp venue from Patiala to Gandhinagar due to logistical considerations.
