The 13th Ministerial Conference (MC13) of the World Trade Organization (WTO) concluded without consensus on crucial issues like curbing subsidies and public stockholding for food security, notably prioritized by India. While progress was made on fisheries subsidies negotiations, a two-tier dispute settlement system was deferred. The conference extended the moratorium on customs duties on electronic transmissions until March 31, 2026. Despite divergences, an agreement was reached on services domestic regulation, aiming to lower global trade costs by over $125 billion, albeit India’s absence in the pact’s endorsement.
