Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Y.S. Sharmila accused former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and his successor Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy of squandering opportunities for state development. Naidu’s unfulfilled promises of a new capital left 35,000 farmers in uncertainty, while Jagan failed to establish any of the proposed three capitals. Sharmila also criticized the BJP, alleging Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s unfulfilled pledges to aid the state post-bifurcation. She emphasized the need for Special Category Status (SCS) and urged voters to support the Congress for revitalizing the state’s progress.
