At a talk titled ‘Challenges to democracy and Constitutional values in India’, Yogendra Yadav emphasized the vital role of citizens in protecting democracy and the Constitution. Alongside Sukumar Narayana from Delhi University, Yadav stressed the importance of social and economic democracy, equality, and the existence of Opposition parties. They called for citizen engagement to counter threats to democracy, such as media manipulation and inequalities. Referencing leaders like Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Yadav highlighted the need for active civic participation to safeguard democratic principles and ensure a better future. Attendees included leaders from student associations and civil society.
