Nikhil Kamath, co-founder of Zerodha, has become India’s youngest billionaire at the age of 37, according to Forbes’ latest list of India’s 100 richest people. Along with his brother Nithin Kamath, they were ranked 40th among the country’s wealthiest individuals, with a combined net worth of $5.5 billion. Zerodha, founded in 2010, revolutionized zero-cost equity investing. The company reported a revenue of Rs 6,875 crore and a profit of Rs 2,907 crore for the financial year 2022-23. Despite competition, the company plans to maintain onboarding and maintenance fees. Nikhil Kamath recently unveiled the “WTF Fund” initiative for young entrepreneurs under 22 years of age.
