A Singapore Airlines flight from London to Singapore experienced severe turbulence over the Indian Ocean, resulting in a sharp descent of 6,000 feet in three minutes. The turbulence left a 73-year-old British man dead, possibly from a heart attack, and more than two dozen passengers injured. The Boeing 777 flight, carrying 211 passengers and 18 crew members, was diverted to Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport. Emergency services treated the injured, with 18 remaining hospitalized and 12 treated as outpatients. Singapore Airlines expressed condolences and arranged a replacement flight to transport remaining passengers to Singapore.
