The Boxing Federation of India (BFI) has agreed to join the newly-formed World Boxing governing body following the International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) refusal to recognize the International Boxing Association (IBA). This decision was announced during the World Olympic qualifiers in Bangkok. Despite joining WB, BFI expressed its intent to continue participating in IBA events for the sake of boxers. IOC’s stance on IBA’s affiliation prompted BFI’s move. BFI President Ajay Singh emphasized the importance of supporting boxers and acknowledged IOC’s concerns.
