Indian batsman Shubman Gill will miss the upcoming World Cup match against Afghanistan on October 11 as he remains under medical supervision in Chennai. Gill also sat out the opening match against Australia due to an undisclosed illness. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed Gill’s absence, stating that he will stay back in Chennai and be under the medical team’s supervision. Gill’s replacement for the Australia game, Ishan Kishan, contributed to India’s victory. The 24-year-old Gill, known for his exceptional form, will be missed as India seeks to reclaim the World Cup title after 12 years.
