Charanjit Surinder Singh Attra, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of India’s largest lender, State Bank of India (SBI), has resigned from his position. Neither Attra nor SBI have provided a reason for his departure, and he was unavailable for comment. SBI confirmed his resignation in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), effective from the close of business on June 30, 2023. Attra, who became SBI’s CFO in October 2020, had over 12 years of experience with the ICICI Bank group, working in areas such as investment banking, finance, retail banking, and financial accounting. Prashant Kumar was the CFO before Attra.
