A 13-year-old boy was apprehended by police for sending a fake bomb threat email to Delhi airport, claiming a Dubai-bound flight was at risk. The Class 9 student admitted he did it “for fun” after seeing similar incidents on social media. The threat on June 17 led to heightened security and a full emergency at the airport, affecting operations. Police traced the email to Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand, and found the boy had used a mobile phone given by his parents for study. He deleted the email account afterward out of fear, without informing his parents.
