India has criticized Pakistan for making references to the Ram Temple in Ayodhya and the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) during remarks at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). India’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Ruchira Kamboj, described Pakistan as a “broken record” that remains stagnant while the world progresses. She responded to comments made by Pakistan’s Ambassador Munir Akram during the adoption of the resolution ‘Measures to combat Islamophobia’. Kamboj stated that it is unfortunate to witness Pakistan’s limited and misguided perspective on matters related to India, particularly when discussing global issues that demand wisdom and a global outlook from the entire membership of the General Assembly. The resolution was adopted by the UNGA with 115 nations voting in favor, none against, and 44 abstentions, including India.
