Meta’s Instagram is launching an upgraded ‘Close Friends’ feature, enabling users to share posts and Reels with a select audience. Rolled out on Android and iOS devices from November 15, the expansion allows users to choose their ‘Close Friends’ list when posting on their Instagram feed, offering more privacy and a smaller audience. The feature, initially introduced in 2018 for sharing stories, eliminates the need for a separate private account. Additionally, Instagram is testing various response options for direct messages, including audio, photo, video, gifs, and stickers, expected to be available to all users soon.
