Robert Card, the suspect in the fatal shooting of 18 people and wounding of 13 in Maine, has been found dead, believed to have died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to law enforcement officials. Card, a 40-year-old U.S. Army reservist, had undergone a mental health evaluation in mid-July after displaying erratic behavior during training. Murder warrants had been issued against him, and he had been sought since the Wednesday night shootings at Schemengees Bar and Grille and Just-In-Time Recreation bowling alley in Lewiston. Authorities had concerns about Card’s mental health, leading to his evaluation at a military facility.
