Avdesh Kumar, a worker at the Thane chemical factory where a devastating blast occurred, likened the chaos to a “pralay” (cataclysm) that lasted merely five seconds but claimed ten lives and left over 60 injured. Metal pieces and debris flew in all directions as the explosion ripped through the factory, leaving nothing but havoc in its wake. Kumar, who suffered injuries in the blast, described the scene of panic and pandemonium as everyone scrambled for safety amidst collapsing structures and flying debris. The blast not only devastated the factory but also caused damage to adjacent properties.
